| About the Gel Pad The reusable gel pad is a water based solid that does not leave any residue on the patient. It can be used over and over until it eventually breaks apart. The gel pad typically lasts between 2 and 5 weeks depending on the volume of patients. A wet paper towel can be used as a sanitary barrier between the patient and the gel pad or it can be used in direct contact and be cleaned later with alcohol. Moisture is the key to prolonging the gel pads life. It is suggested that the gel pad is sprayed (spray bottle provided with unit) with water before it is placed back in its protective container. When it is in its protective container, the gel pad can be stored for weeks without it deteriorating. |
